5 Fall Activities in Marietta

From hiking to ghost hunting, Marietta is full of fall activities! You will want to add all these festive ideas to your Marietta fall bucket list during your next visit.

Kennesaw Mountain

Take advantage of the beautiful fall foliage at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. There’s nothing quite like enjoying the cool weather while taking a stroll. Opt outside this fall and explore the 2,965 acres of the park. Pick up food from a restaurant on the Marietta Square and take it to the park to have a beautiful picnic lunch or dinner.

Ghosts of Marietta

Celebrate spooky season by taking a Ghosts of Marietta tour. As with any community harboring these traits, some residents chose to never leave. Whether it is the tale of the departed spirit of a civil war soldier, or a mysterious resident of one of Marietta’s stately homes or businesses, you will hear the stories behind these mysteries and maybe, if you’re lucky, experience them as well.

Scarecrows in the Square

Stroll through Glover Park during the month of October to view the amazing scarecrows that local Marietta organizations have created. These scarecrows range from spooky to cute to 100% unique. Pro tip: sip on a warm beverage from one of the local coffee shops around while viewing all the creative scarecrows.

American Axes

Whether you are a pro-beard, flannel-wearing axe-throwing regular or a first timer, American Axes wants you and your crew to have an unforgettable time. Fall is the perfect time to break out your flannel and experience axe throwing. Instructors will walk you through how to throw an axe correctly and give you tips on how to improve. They also offer league nights to compete against other axe aficionados.

Marietta Beer Bus

Hop on the Marietta Beer Bus at any Marietta craft alcohol manufacturer to enjoy a FREE shuttle to all five establishments! Stops include Shezmu Cellars, Schoolhouse Brewing, Red Hare Brewing, Ironmonger Brewing and Glover Park Brewery. The Marietta Beer Bus runs on the first and third Saturday of each month from 2pm to 8pm. The bus arrives at each stop about every 30 minutes. This service is paid for by the craft breweries, cidery, and winery to take the logistics out of your tour of the fine craft alcohol in Marietta!
