An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until November 30, 2019
Visit the William Root House Museum & Garden as we travel back in time to the American Civil War. The house was abandoned by the Root family in June 1864, and was first used as a hospital for wounded Confederate soldiers, and later served as barracks for Union surgeons working in nearby hospitals. During this special exhibit, the ransacked parlor and dining room will show what the family may have left behind after fleeing to safety in Washington, Georgia. This exhibit is included with the cost of regular museum admission and is free for Cobb Landmarks members.
